The Multidimensional changes of Senior Social Activities and Job Program's Participants: Focused on civic service activities and market-type working group

Abstract
This study aims to examine the multidimensional changes of senior job and social activities programs' participants. For analysis, 1,024 cases have been collected by power allocation sampling, 624 cases extracted from the list of participants who have newly participated in the program in 2017 and 400 cases collected from the waiting list of the same program. Propensity score matching(PSM) was used to analysis differences between participants and non-participants. The results show that senior job and social activities programs are more likely to increase participants' self-esteem and social support, and is more likely to decrease loneliness and depressive level.
Moreover, participants of senior job and social activities programs are less likely to visit to medical clinics compared to non-participants. The findings of this study indicate that participation in a senior job and social activities programs plays an important role in increasing psycho-social and physical health and in making the strong social support except enlarging the social network.
Based on these findings, the study has discussed some implications to improve the effects of senior job and social activities programs.
